Under the slogan, "One less plastic bag", the Committee to Beautiful Israel, Bank Hapoalim, and the website "Shout" launched a widespread public campaign whose goal is to reduce the use of plastic bags in Israel.
I am happy and proud that I was chosen to lead this campaign. I hope that with my small contribution, we can all influence and help to protect our environment.
Here is my commercial:
In the framework of the campaign, there will be information stands near big shopping centers all over Israel. Activists will approach people coming in and out of the shopping centers, asking them to use one less plastic bag, and even offering to switch plastic bags for recyclable plastic bags (made out of flour of potatoes and corn) and cloth bags.
Background: Today there is overuse and lack of control over plastic bags which are distributed free in shops and stores. Two billion bags are distributed in Israel a year, while the average time of use is around 20 minutes. Irresponsible use of these plastic bags causes great harm to the environment. They are only decomposed after hundreds of years, they make our environment dirty, they fly in the wind, they get stuck in trees, and they kill animals in the sea and on land. 30% of Israel's buried garbage a year is plastic bags.
